Nilüfer Yanya (born May 11, 1995, in London) is a British singer and songwriter known for her genre‑blending music that fuses indie rock, jazz, R&B, and atmospheric pop. She began releasing music in 2016 and gradually gained attention with the EPs Small Crimes and Plant Feed, before her debut album Miss Universe (2019) established her as a distinctive voice in British music. Her second album, Painless (2022), featured introspective lyrics and stripped‑back, atmospheric arrangements. The album was praised as “sharp, ethereal, and beautiful in its rawness,” solidifying her position as one of her generation’s most exciting artists. In September 2024, she followed up with My Method Actor, her third album and first release on Ninja Tune. Produced alongside Wilma Archer, it includes tracks like “Binding,” “Call It Love,” and “Mutations,” and has been described as her most confident and emotionally powerful work to date.
